The Awakened Journey

The awakening of a person’s spirit is really about a journey to inner growth. When you start to awaken and you find yourself in the middle of this you may wonder: What is going on? How do I cope? Will this end?  As you are waking up a lot of things are happening to you, and it seems all at the same time. You may feel a little helter-skelter. I know I did. So I am going to share with you three things that helped me tremendously while walking on this path to self-actualization.

1. Meditation.

When it was first explained to me that I was awakening, meditation was something that was highly recommended for me to start doing. I had to admit it was a challenge at first. I had some pre-conceived old religious views I had to overcome. For instance, the kind of mediation I was always told to do was the type where I constantly thought about the things I was learning in that religious environment. So my brain was constantly full. Even though I had left the physical religious environment I was s…

Vessel of Love

“The purpose of every human life is to teach, through one's own method, the power of love.” ― Chriscinthia Blount
I was given a beautiful vase as a gift recently. It’s a multi-colored hand blown piece of art. It’s absolutely beautiful to look at. As I handled my gift I instantly decided that I would not put anything inside of it because it would just take away from the aesthetic of the piece. It makes a statement all on its own.
Ironically, I woke up this morning with the words vase, or vessel in my head. I thought to myself: Isn’t that what we all are? We are human vessels made up of skin and bones. But inside of us lies our spirit. The outside is important, and it’s necessary that we take care of our bodies. But it’s our spirit that moves these bodies and defines who we really are.
We can be a vessel for any emotion, and to really show you how this works I am going to use a personal example. I am a vessel of love. I realized this during interactions with people over a period of…

Get Out Of The Way Of The Universe!

“No, no, it's not all random, if it really was all random, the universe would abandon us completely. And the universe doesn't. It takes care of its most fragile creations in ways we can't see. Like with parents who adore you blindly, and a big sister who feels guilty for being human over you.  Like a little gravelly-voiced kid whose friends have left him over you and even a pink-haired girl who carries your picture in her wallet. Maybe it is a lottery, but the universe makes it all even out in the end. The universe takes care of all its birds.”
― R.J. Palacio

Whatever you believe in, God/Universe/Allah, etc., you have to admit when we step out of our own way and allow what is Higher to direct us our lives take on a new glow.

Human beings are very powerful; we are able to do things that seem insurmountable at times. We manifest many things with our thoughts, words and actions. But there is something to be said about standing in the flow of something bigger, completely surre…

Spiritual Awakening Symptoms! vBlog!

Debbie talks about some of the symptoms she experienced during the process of spiritually awakening. These include sudden life changes, changes in sleep patterns, intense dreams, youthfulness.

Losing My Religion! Part One

In a previous post Spiritual Awakening- I Saw The Signs, I wrote about some of the signs I experienced during the awakening process.
During my awakening I experienced a shifting or a removal of some deeply entrenched things in my life. I left my marriage and my job of many years. One of the situations in my life that also shifted was my religious beliefs. It is one of the signs of awakening as referenced below:
“Craving more and more to break free from traditions, outdated institutional thinking, blind conformity, and useless beliefs that do not serve the higher self anymore. This breaking free takes a lot of courage.” -Roya R. Rad, MA, PsyD (Huffington Post)

From childhood my beliefs were set in stone. Like most people, I never questioned what I believed. I was told it was true and was always shown “proof” that this was the case. However as an adult, with an ever increasing ability to make my own choices and decisions, many times I found what heard or saw to be contradictory. Howeve…

Riding The Bliss Bus Together!

“Sometimes, reaching out and taking someone's hand is the beginning of a journey. At other times, it is allowing another to take yours.” ― Vera Nazarian.
When I started sharing my story about this unusual event happening to me, my ulterior motive was to impart to others that it’s a real and authentic experience. I was amazed by the events that were occurring in my life, they were odd and fascinating at the same time.
As I interacted with more people via social media, it was heartwarming to find others on the same path of awareness. I am grateful to have found this whole network of people.
However what is truly heartwarming is to cross paths with others closer in my friend’s circles, who reach out to me because of something I may have posted online. As I recount the events that are leading me down this road, it allows the other person to open up and talk about some of the things that they are experiencing. What I am finding is that many people are awakening, asking questions about …

I Saw The Signs! Pt 1

“When we awaken to our truth, we realize we are free.” ― Kristi Bowman
Just from conversations I have had with people who are in some phase of their awakening they are usually completely unaware of what was occurring in their lives. I know I did not know what on earth was happening to me until someone told me and I started doing some research. There is a lot of information available online and in books about the symptoms of a spiritual awakening. Actually some of the lists are quite exhausting. If you were to read all the symptoms, one may think they are actually having a ninth nervous breakdown. These lists are quite comprehensive.
I have combed through the list of symptoms and I wanted to pinpoint some of the significant ones I encountered and how I was affected by them. Here are the first three that really stood out to me:
1. Events that completely alter your life: Death, divorce, changes in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes -- sometimes several at once! …

Love And The Vibrational Match.

Not many people understand that the core of all relationships is spiritual. People say it all the time: “I love how this person makes me feel” or “this person makes me feel a certain way”. What they are not closely looking at is why.
We are all basically balls of energy running around in skin and bones. Inside of your body is your own unique energy. It’s somewhat like a signature, no two are alike. When it comes to meeting people and getting to know them, you may sense an attraction or repulsion. That is basically your energy indicating whether you are a match or not.
What a lot of people tend to do is feel good about a person and jump right into a situation with them. Your energy has different layers and sometimes it’s not always evident until you start to go deeper. You start sharing your energy so quickly; you get enmeshed and then may find out that this person has energetic issues. You begin to realize that as you go deeper to their energetic core you do not match. There may be h…

Spiritual Baby Needs A Nap!

“Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more important it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey.” ― John O'Donohue Usually, when it comes to writing posts for the blog, I have tons of information to pull from. A lot of what I write is based on my life, or those of others. I am constantly reading new material and doing research on topics that help me and that could be a source of encouragement to others. My dreams are a big source of inspiration too. It’s not uncommon for me to wake up in the middle of the night and write things down that I have seen or heard in my dreams. I always seem to know what I am about to write about in advance. But over the last few days I found myself wondering: What am I going to write about for the Monday Edition?
As I am typing this I realized what I am supposed to writ…

The Beauty of Clarity.

Clarity arrives gradually. Once we reach clarity, everything makes sense. ~Cloris Kylie Stock

Lately I have been talking to people who are living out their life’s purpose. By reaching out to some influential people I’ve been trying to ascertain what happened to them, what led them to where they are today.

Quite a few of them had secular jobs, but deep down knew that they had something more to do, give and life had more to offer. Some of them were already doing things they loved doing, but felt a push to go higher. I noticed that in each case they all had a love to serve others, and help others in some way. Some were telling their stories by speaking out, doing things in the community in their own unique way.

Many of them went through a spiritual awakening, a very powerful “wake up” call where suddenly life looked very different. At times it meant making radical changes within themselves and developing an ability to look at themselves honestly. It was almost as if they lost their form…

All Hail The Awakened Queens!

I don't know where I'm going
But, I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises
In songs of yesterday
An' I've made up my mind,
I ain't wasting no more time
But, here I go again
Here I go again
It always happens. It happens every single time. It happens just to confirm that you are not alone, that your prayers are heard. It happens to reassure you that every pleading of your heart reaches the ears of those who can help you. Sometimes it happens instantaneously or over a period time. When it happens to me, I just keep asking because I know I will always get what I need.
I am going through things I feel I am not able to really share with people. Amazing, right? Because I am the Queen of Oversharing, but there are things I don’t talk about because they are so viscerally personal; a part of me I just don’t know how to share. But I am realizing that it is fear that is preventing me from maybe telling people certain things and I sure as hell don’t …

VROOM! Spiritual Awakening- Life As A Car!

“For our path in stony and rugged now, and it rests with us to smooth it. We must fight our way onward. We must be brave. There are obstacles to be met, and we must meet, and crush them!”  ― Charles Dickens
The moment you take your first breath you are alive and you are here. As you grow and mature you acquire experiences and meet people who will affect your life. If you are lucky you gain an education, move on to employment, find a mate and raise a family. You create a life, by your choices, good or bad.
It’s this place of the in-between of birth and death that is the most important. Many of us have choices and opportunities that can create a wonderful experience. And hopefully some of us can raise those in a lower state due to their lack of opportunities and choices, to a higher experience.
Some people at some point experience a spiritual awakening and realize that we are all connected, even the “haves” need as much as the “have-nots”. This is a state of awareness that helps u…

Your Soul Knows The Truth. Listen!

Set peace of mind as your highest goal, and organize your life around it. - Brian Tracy
It is quiet and beautifully peaceful at home. There is no television playing in the background. It’s just me and the sound of my fingers hitting the keyboard of this laptop, trying to get this post out as fast as it falls into my head.  I am supposed to write about peace, specifically inner peace. I know this because of the” a-ha” moment I had recently. It was a moment where everything came clear into view.
I can honestly say that for the most part I have felt a modicum of peace for quite a while. I recall a pivotal moment in my awakening, when before entering meditation; I asked to feel inner peace. I came out of that session, bent over, with tears streaming down my face, hand clutched to my chest. It was so overwhelming! In that moment I realized the acute difference between inner turmoil and inner peace. I had felt turmoil for so long and now to feel the opposite took my breath away. I have lea…

Quit Ya Whinin'!

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.” ― Paulo Coelho

Change! We love it! We hate it! But if you've lived long enough you at some point change is inevitable. It’s funny when we initiate a change we want that only affects us, and we can see the benefits right before our eyes everything is honky-dory!
But when a change involves another person or if the change is forced upon us, all hell breaks loose. We get stressed out, think the worst and add fear to the mix it can cause us to break down. Change, changes us into monsters or angels.

I have embraced change. Change from within and from external forces. Ha! I could tell you about change! One day I was moseying through a pr…

The Spiritual Over-Achiever!

I have always been the observant person. I am always trying to understand and learn.  Since people are my passion and I am extremely fascinated with them, it’s nothing more intriguing to sit and talk to others or even if they use little words, try and decipher what is really going on the inside.
I am also a keen observer of the Self. Having learned to go outside myself and peer in, I've understood my own actions and reactions. I've doggedly pursued and still do, the ability to weed through my issues and do the work it takes to build a better life.
These efforts to understand have led me down this road and opened up my consciousness to new and amazing levels. I am surprised at where I was just one year ago and where I am today. I am very awake and aware.
But really, what is consciousness? One basic definition is this: Consciousness refers to your individual awareness of your unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations and environment.  But it’s a constant state, where you …
