Spiritual Awareness: Be The Rock Who Speaks Forth!

“A choir is made up of many voices, including yours and mine. If one by one all go silent then all that will be left are the soloists. Don’t let a loud few determine the nature of the sound. It makes for poor harmony and diminishes the song.”
― Vera Nazarian

I met Stacey * about six or seven years ago when I set up a photo session with her. I had known her for a while, following her on social media and watching her life unfold. She was and still is a go-getter.

When we met at the location for the photo shoot and I started to work with her, I got a strong sense about her future. The more time I spent with her I felt this powerful desire to tell her something that was trying to come out of my soul. Eventually, I got to it and this is what I told her:

“You are going to do some great things. You have the power to influence others. Just remember that.”

Now the ironic thing was that I was not nearly as awakened when I made that statement to her as I am today. We are still friends and I am a…

Spiritual Awakening: Seven Year Cycles of Consciousness

“We are all butterflies. Earth is our chrysalis.”
― LeeAnn Taylor

Recently I had a thought drop into my head. This seems to happen quite a bit lately. Out of the blue I thought of the Seven Year Cycles of Consciousness. Bear in mind I have never thought or read anything about the subject until I heard the phrase in my head. Maybe I am stuck on the number seven since I am reading a book by Jamie Sams called Dancing the Dream. It basically discusses the  seven sacred paths of human transformation. Maybe that’s how I got stuck in the sevens. But then I have been caught in a game of significant universal numbering for about a month now. Who knows. But I digress.

I have heard that every seven years the cells in your body renew themselves. However did you know your consciousness shifts every seven years as well? Well, I can surely attest for that the last seven years of my life. I have had a huge shift in my life. If you had told me ten years ago I would be writing a blog about spiritual aw…

Positivity: Change, Change, Change! Change Your ‘Tude!

“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.”
― Winston S. Churchill

Today’s blog post was on a completely different topic. But an email from someone dear to me made me change my mind. The funniest things will inspire you and his email certainly did just that for me. I wanted to share with you a perspective, a way to look at things in a different light. Maybe when we do we can see the upside, the silver lining that is always in front of us.

As I started to read his email, I started to laugh; then I started to cry. The story was so poignant but funny at the same time because I could actually see it all being played out. My friend had what you would call a travel day from hell. At every turn there was some kind of situation that seemed as if it was meant to undo his sanity. Without going into much detail, let’s just say that after a day of complete madness, you would think he made it home and all was well. No, there were things waiting at home to close out a long day with a …

Spiritual Awareness: The Magic Of Muir Woods

“I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people.
I thought, "This is what it is to be happy.”
― Sylvia Plath

A few weeks ago, while I was minding my own business at work, I heard a loud inner command that said: “Do not stay in Houston for your birthday!” It was a very startling thought. My birthday was coming up and I did not have any specific plans, to say the least take a trip out of town. But the thought was so powerfully loud and intense, that I did not think twice and booked a flight to the Northern California Coast. I was excited about spending my birthday with close friends and family and checking out a few favorite places while I was there.

When I finally arrived in Oakland, I kept questioning why I was being led away from my hometown. I thought about this as when my cousin picked me up from the airport and we immediately headed to Sonoma, to visit a few wineries. As we were driving through the green rolling hills, it slowly began to dawn…

Spiritual Awareness:The Quantum Leaps- Part Two!

“We are the product of quantum fluctuations in the very early universe.” -Stephen Hawking

(This is a follow up the previous post: The Quantum Leaps- Part One which you can read here.)
Recently I was trying to describe to someone what it feels like to have a quantum leap of thought. The topic came up because we were discussing the different views of thought I have opened myself to over the past two years. Being exposed to these different points of view, via different types of people have created these instances where my thinking jettisons from one place to another.

Basically the term quantum leap comes from the world of physics. An in-depth definition would state that a quantum leap is  an abrupt transition of an electron, atom, or molecule from one quantum state to another, with the absorption or emission of a quantum. However a more simplified version that you could use that is outside of the scientific world, is that a quantum leap  is a huge, often sudden, increase or change in so…

Positivity: Guest Blog- A Brave New World: Online Dating!

“Dating is like trying to make a meal out of leftovers. Some leftovers actually get better when they've had a little time to mature. But others should be thrown out right away, No matter how you try to warm them up, they're never as good as when they were new.”
― Lisa Kleypas

This is the second article by guest blogger Michelle Killic. The divorced mother of a son takes us through her jaunts of dating on the online scene!

Spring is in the air and it is time once again to remind us humans how beautiful life is when the natural life cycle returns to the magical dance that is rebirth. Part of that rebirth for me is watching local birds nest themselves right upon a ledge on my front porch. I look out my front door and I can see a sparrow lay her eggs and watch as her babies hatch (with the father looking on) to then become part of the natural cycle that is our world. I love to see it every springtime and feel lucky to know that these special creatures have chosen my front porch to …

Spiritual Awareness: All You Have To Do Is Ask!

“You need to trust
To surrender
To ask for guidance
Go within for the answers
They're within you
You have the answers
All you need do is ask”
Karen Hackel

Hi my name is Debbie-Ann. I have an inquiring mind and I want to know.
I was always a nosy kid. When I was about nine years old, I got this silly notion in my head that I was adopted. I proceeded to do a thorough investigation in my mother’s files in her closet, to prove that I was from another family. When she found out that I was rifling through her personal items she began to lock her bedroom door when she would leave for work.
I then proceeded to learn how to pick a lock. I became an expert lock picker.

If there is something I want to know, there is nothing that will stop me from finding out, especially if it is something that’s important and has to do with me. However, I have learned recently a more effective way of gathering information and gaining opportunities.
Are you ready? It’s earth shattering.

If you want to know anythi…

Spiritual Awareness: The Beautiful Subtle Shift

“A single event can awaken within us a stranger totally unknown to us. To live is to be slowly born.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

If there is one thing that is a constant during the process of first awakening to becoming fully awakened is the shifting of your spirit. In the initial stages of awakening you may experience some dramatic changes to your personal life. Some of these shifts could show up as a loss of a loved one that jars your soul. Losing a job or dealing with a serious illness are other ways a spiritual awakening can emerge in a person’s life.

Each shift will feel like a shedding and an upgrade at the same time. Some of those shifts will be self- induced. There could be areas in your life where you have to release situations that are holding you back from growing. I believe that once we master those types of shifts, the ones we realize are important for our souls to push through; we will be able to walk our journey with a bit of ease.
Then there are the shifts that are ve…
