Service To Others: A Spiritual Tenant!

Image
“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
― Maya Angelou

In the spiritual world where we all originate the main tenants are:
Love
Joy
Peace
Compassion
Forgiveness
Unity
Service
Most people are familiar with these attributes of the spirit; however the last one is something that most may not consider.

Service to Others is the polar opposite of Service to Self. The latter is not constituted as “bad”. It just yields a different energy and outcome. Service to Others operates inflow with the direction of the Universe. It goes out and expands and creates outcomes that not only benefit where the energy is emitted, but it also reaches out and touches others.

There are numerous ways a person can serve others. In most cases it can be observed in opportunities such as volunteering. Some donate to charities. Some take care of those who are unable to fend or fight for themselves. Sacrificing our time on behalf of another soul, being active in areas of the environment, …

Awareness: Animals! The Unsung "Healers" of the World. Part One

Image
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains un-awakened."  ~ Anatole France

For those of us who have a deep affinity for animals, we know they have unique way of "healing" humans close to them. They are amazing because of the way they do it, they "heal" us without even trying. Why is it animals have such a wonderful gift of "healing" that seems to allude us humans? Is it innate within their being? Is their level of consciousness in direct communication with spirit, or is it that they have no ego therefore making the transition from pain to peace a much easier transition? I cannot really say why this exists, but I do know it does exist. I know from first hand experience as this is my own personal story of one such animal.

Right after I graduated college, I moved to a small city in Arizona to be near a boyfriend. During that time, little did I know what would seem like a small and insignificant addition to my life, would beco…

Consciousness: The Root of Purpose.

“I'm planting a tree to teach me to gather strength from my deepest roots.” ― Andrea Koehle Jones

It bolsters and warms my heart to observe a growing number of men and women walking very conscious paths. Each and every day a shift is made within our lives as we open up to a full spiritual experience.

The interesting thing is that when you start to travel down this path, you are never quite sure of where you are going. You know you are being led, because you can see it as you take stock of where you have been. But once you get to the destination or the root of your purpose, things suddenly start to all make sense. And once you hear the message that you are specifically meant to share, it will be so clear and obvious to you. It’s a message that when you speak it, people will listen. That is why no one message is the same. The vehicle and a unique spirit is behind it. And that is why we have beautiful variances to spiritual messaging.

Not only will you hear the information clearly…

Spiritual Awareness: International Women's Day Tribute

Image
"Honor your daughters. They are honorable.”  – Malala Yousafzai

Today is International Women’s Day, and I woke up this morning thinking about all the women in my life, specifically those in my family and how grateful I am for them.
First, naturally is my mother. As I grow older I am developing a revered honor for her. As I have seen her life unfold, knowing her story, where she has been and where she is now, it is an honor to have this spirit in my life. I know she was specifically chosen to be a part of my journey. Her strength and dignity continues to inspire me. Her grace under fire despite the adversities that have crossed her life is something I emulate.

In each situation that I face, I image what my mother would do, how she would think and how she would comport herself. Even at my age in my all my life decisions whether it be work, purpose, friendships or relationships; I consider her and what she would think of my choices. My mother has an extremely keen sense of people;…

Spirituality: The Spiritual Metronome.

“To live is to be musical, starting with the blood dancing in your veins.  Everything living has a rhythm.  Do you feel your music? -Michael Jackson

There is nothing more amazing than hearing your Soul’s Song! It is a unique symphony of love that solely belongs to you. It is a direct note from the Source (God) that is integral to your soul. No one has a note like it; however those closest to your octave can recognize it.

Over the last few years I have gotten these increasing love boosts. It is basically energy that floods your system. It is love energy that is attracted to yours when your spirit has become clear and unburdened over time and effort to cleanse it of physical contamination.

However this one instance of that energy was new. This is how it went down.
It was during an uplifting phone call on the way home from work one day that I noticed yours truly was getting hyper. The last thing I said to my friend was: “Oh my! I need to get outside and meditate the minute I get in the …

Spirituality: Re-Design Your Life!

Image
“In reality, all men are sculptors, constantly chipping away the unwanted parts of their lives trying to create a masterpiece.” - Eddie Murphy
If you had told me six years ago that I would living my life the way I am today I would have never believed you. The old version of myself, would have listened to the words and looked at you in disbelief. I would have looked at my situation and wondered how do I get out of this? My marriage and belief system were taking a toll on my emotional and mental health, but I could see no way out. That was the case, until a freak accident shook me up enough to make me stop caring about what others thought and the consequences that my walking away from a foggy life would bring.
I have no regrets. Like many people who recreate their lives, most of us do not look back in remorse. In fact, standing at a good distance from the past gives you a certain perspective. I am one of those Re-Designers who spent a lot of time crawling and bawling! So to be in this…
