Consciousness: Life Imitates Spirit
When I look back on the beginning stages of this journey, I can see how I was taken through a step by step learning program. I had to understand some basic spiritual concepts that were somewhat foreign to me. These are things we are not taught in school. In time as we grow in awareness we suddenly discover this knowledge and realize that we mostly forgot that they are a part of our spiritual heritage.
The most basic teaching is that everything is energy. Everything has a vibration onto itself. Oddly, some of us did not learn that we are energy, encapsulated in a physical body. We just take for granted that we move, not really looking deeper into how and why.
Pierre Teilhard De Chardin said: “You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience.” This is a very difficult concept for most people to contemplate. That is because all we have ever known is that we have a physical body and live in a material world.
When I am approached and asked to explain this quote I use something that is easy for people to grasp. Most people do not realize that the physical world mimics the spiritual realm. One way we do so is something people never probably thought about. But once a person sees the correlation their minds can expand just enough the grasp De Chardin’s quote.
The scenario I usually paint is that a person has been accepted to NASA as an astronaut. The training is pretty intense from what I have been told. One of the components of the training is adapting to the use of a spacesuit. The spacesuit is a very intricate piece of work, it is actually a vehicle. You can read more about the details here. It consists of a helmet, gloves and assembly parts that protect the rest of the entire body. It has a cooling and ventilation system.
There is also located on the back of the suit an oxygen system that allows the astronaut to breathe in space. It also provides electricity (energy) and a water tank is attached to the suit. Astronaut boots allow space travelers hover or float. They are equipped with the all-important foot restraints that prevent astronauts from floating of the surface of the moon during moonwalks due to a lack of gravity.
Engineers have made some remarkable upgrades to the space suit over the years. Yes, we mere humans built these so we could explore outer space. Ever wonder where that idea, the ability and creativity came from?
When you share this information with people it makes them pause. You see, this is how humans mimic what happens in the spiritual realm. In order to come to this planet which is so dense from gravity and to walk around it, energetic beings have to don a “suit” so their energy will stay on the planet. Our suits are so amazingly designed and engineered! Most of us know this but when was the last time you really looked at all the components of the body.
At Innerbody.com there is an interactive experience where you can familiarize yourself in case you have forgotten how magnificent the suit is. Interestingly, just like the spacesuit, our human bodies are destructible. Like the space suit if damaged irreparably we will die. The miracle is that we can heal. But in most cases our bodies disintegrate over time.
Inside this amazing skin suit is the energy that operates it. Wondering where that powerful energy came from is the first step in discovering who and what you truly are. The next question is why. If we are to follow De Chardin’s line of thinking, we may end up sitting in silence for hours in complete wonder.
So why are we here? What is the point of exploring this planet? What do we hope to learn on this excursion? Exactly what are we? And why would we, if we are energetic spiritual beings need to be here in human form in the first place?
